Malfunction at Balti substation leaves Narva without power

Transformers switched off on Saturday evening at Balti substation, which is managed by Elering. Consumers of several substations were left without power, including the cities of Narva and Sillamäe.

On Saturday evening slightly before 8pm, Elering restored power to all substations affected by the malfunction.

As a consequence of the malfunction in one system component at Balti substation, a small fire broke out, which was local and did not pose a risk to the rest of the equipment at the substation.
