According to data from the Nordic electricity exchange Nord Pool, electricity prices increased in all Nord Pool price areas in November. In Estonia, the price was 33.7 euros per megawatt-hour, an increase of less than one per cent in comparison with October.

In the Finnish price area, the average electricity exchange price rose by 0.75 per cent, reaching 33.67 euros per megawatt-hour. In Latvia, the price increased by 3.47 per cent to 34.87 euros and the price difference with Estonia was 1.17 euros per megawatt-hour. The Nord Pool system price was 32.27 euros per megawatt-hour, increasing by 12.6 per cent within a month. Estonian and Finnish electricity prices differed on only seven hours of all the November hours, while Estonian and Latvian prices differed on 163 hours.

In November, power flows on the Estonia-Finland connections moved in the direction of Estonia 60.1 per cent of the time, the direction of Finland 22.8 per cent of the time and there was no trade 17.1 per cent of the time, which is 123 hours. Between Estonia and Latvia, the power flows were directed to Latvia 95.3 per cent of the time, and there was no trade on only four hours.

In November, 26 per cent of the full capacity available to the market was used between Estonia and Finland and 63 per cent between Estonia and Latvia. Thereat, one hundred per cent of the full capacity available to the market was used for three hours on the Finland-Estonia direction and for 160 hours on the Estonia-Latvia direction.

Elering earned 424,831 euros in revenue from cross-border capacity distribution in November.

The carbon dioxide emission quota price, which influences the electricity price, increased in November and remained between 7.35–7.92 euros per ton; in October, the price was in the range of 6.88–7.81 euros per ton.

Based on transactions on the last day of trading on the Nasdaq OMX market in November, the electricity exchange price in the Estonian price area may reach 36.3 euros per megawatt-hour in December and 40.55 euros per megawatt-hour in January.
