According to Elering’s smart grid platform Estfeed, there were close to 727,000 places of consumption connected to the power grid in Estonia as of the end of May, and the first five months of the year saw the addition of nearly 1,400 new ones.

As of the last day of May, close to 582,000 places of consumption buy electricity on the basis of electricity from an electricity seller; and 145,000, from the distribution grid companies as a general service.

Over 400 places of consumption were added in May alone. Starting from the beginning of June, contracts will be renewed with the same seller or new contracts concluded in almost 3,000 cases, and there will be a change in service provider in 1,200 cases.

Over the last two years, Elering’s smart grid platform has also collected data on gas contracts. As of the end of May, there were over 56,500 places of consumption with a network agreement and this figure has remained stable over the last few months. Around 550 places of consumption have not chosen a gas seller; the rest buy gas on the basis of a contract with the gas seller. In June, a change of service provider will take place at 100 places of consumption.
