On Tuesday, the contract partner of the Estonian and Finnish gas system operators launched activities to identify the suspected leak site and the extent of the predicted damage to the Balticconnector. The inspection operation is carried out during this week.

Once the location of the leak is identified and the extent of the predicted damage is clear, we can start planning the repair measures for the pipe. The information regarding Balticconnector repair is market sensitive information. If we get clarity on this matter, the information must first be published on the gas exchange as a UMM. We can publicly comment on the details of the connection repair, including the possible time required for this, after the publication of the UMM.

Elering and Finnish transmission system operator Gasgrid Finland closed the Balticconnector overnight on Sunday, as the pressure in it started to drop, which indicated a possible leak from the pipe.
