ILF Polska to be the project manager of the Balticconnector`s offshore section

Elering and the Finnish special purpose company Baltic Connector OY signed a contract with the ILF Consulting Engineers Polska Sp. z o.o. on 14th November 2016 for providing complex services of an EPCM Manager (Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management) for the construction of Balticconnector.

ILF’s scope of services includes elaboration of design documentation, project management, contract management, managing procedures for services and deliverables, construction works management, commissioning and start-up support.

This task is carried out in cooperation with ILF Polska’s subcontractor – Australian company Subsea Engineering Associates Pty Ltd, for which this is the second offshore pipeline EPCM project in the Baltic Sea region.

The construction procurement of the offshore section of the Balticconnector will start in the first half of 2017. The whole connection will be completed by 2020.

Total length of the Balticconnector is near to 150 km of which 80 km is located into seabed between Paldiski and Inkoo. The diameter of the offshore pipe will be 50 centimetres and the pressure until 80 bars.

The total cost of the project is EUR 250 million, EUR 187,5 million of which is covered by European Union.
