In the course of its analytical control activities, Elering has identified several cases where renewable energy generation equipment participates in a support scheme for generation equipment below 50 kilowatts (kW), but the capacity of the equipment has later been increased to above 50 kW without informing Elering.

Generation equipment is defined as the equipment and modules behind a single connection point. If the capacity of generation equipment is increased to more than 50 kW, the generation equipment concerned will lose its eligibility for the aid from that moment onwards. In addition, the total amount of aid received since the capacity of the generation equipment was increased to above the capacity allowed under the aid scheme, which in this case is 50 kW, must be repaid retroactively in such cases.

According to the Electricity Market Act, renewable energy support is available as state aid for generation equipment of up to 50 kW that was completed and started production before 31 December 2020.

Elering as the state aid provider must be immediately notified of any changes to an electricity installation receiving operating support as state aid, including changes to capacity, the addition of storage devices, changes to the components of the electricity installation, changes to the metering scheme, etc. by sending an email to the address resupport@elering.ee.
